H and r firearms serial number
serial numbers start in 1932 at 01 (or 101) and go up to almost 100,000 by 1939. some early models will have a D letter code (for double action) usually those manufactured before about 1934. starting in 1940 H&R added a letter code for all firearm they made that year.
